Choose a Split hotel around the balance you want between the city and the coast. A central address makes a different holiday from a resort in Podstrana. Both can work, but the transport plan and the amount of time spent at the hotel should match the location.
Central Split: focus on walking and luggage access
Cornaro is an option near the historic centre. Check the actual address rather than assuming every centrally described hotel sits inside Diocletian's Palace. Ask where a taxi can drop you and how luggage reaches reception.
A central stay can suit restaurants, the waterfront and city walks. If noise is a concern, ask about the room's position and nearby activity. An Old Town location does not automatically mean a quiet bedroom.
Bačvice: Hotel Park
Hotel Park offers a base near Bačvice. Compare the walk into the centre, hotel facilities and the room category you want. Proximity to a beach is different from having a private beach reserved for hotel guests.
Check where you would swim and what services are included. If you plan excursions from the port, allow time for the hotel-to-terminal journey and operator check-in requirements.
Radisson Blu: a coastal hotel within Split
Radisson Blu Resort & Spa is in Split, not Podstrana. Compare its coastal setting and facilities with a more central hotel. Plan the journey to the Old Town according to your transport preferences rather than assuming it is a short doorstep walk.
Ask which pools and beach facilities operate for your dates and whether any areas or loungers have additional charges.
Podstrana: Le Méridien Lav
Le Méridien Lav is outside central Split in Podstrana. Consider it when the resort itself is a major part of your holiday. Road traffic affects trips into the city and to the airport, so avoid treating a fixed transfer time as guaranteed.
If you want dinner in Split every night, include those journeys in the comparison. If you expect to dine at the hotel, check restaurant opening dates and reservation requirements.
Ferries and departure planning
Use the operator's timetable for the particular island, port and date. A Hvar, Brač or Vis journey should not be assigned one universal duration. Passenger services and car ferries are different products.
Keep margin before flights, especially when arriving from an island. A final mainland night can reduce pressure on the connection. Hotel choice should support this plan rather than add another tight transfer.
