Beautiful is a matter of taste. These eight hotels form an editorial shortlist of settings and design styles we think are worth comparing. This is not an official award, a verified national ranking or a claim that every room has the view shown in a hotel's photographs.
Grand Park Hotel Rovinj
Grand Park is a starting point for guests drawn to Rovinj's waterfront setting. Check whether your room category provides the outlook you want. The property's headline photograph may show a public area or a different suite.
Hotel Lone, Rovinj
Lone offers another design-led option in Rovinj. Compare its setting and accommodation with Grand Park instead of treating the two as interchangeable. Ask about the route to the coast and the town for the way you plan to spend your days.
Villa Dubrovnik
Villa Dubrovnik is a candidate for a coastal stay outside the Old Town. If a balcony and a particular sightline are central to your choice, get them confirmed in the room description before paying.
Hotel Excelsior, Dubrovnik
Excelsior belongs on a shortlist for its position along the coast outside the walls. Compare the exact room category and view. Sea view should not automatically be interpreted as Old Town view.
Maslina Resort, Hvar
Maslina offers a resort setting near Stari Grad. Consider whether you want to spend much of the stay at the property or use it for trips across the island. A private pool is a category-specific feature, not something to assume across the hotel.
Palace Elisabeth, Hvar Town
Palace Elisabeth suits guests who want a hotel in Hvar Town. Compare the harbour-facing atmosphere with a more secluded island address. Check the room's outlook and nearby activity if quiet evenings are important.
Meneghetti Wine Hotel, Istria
Meneghetti offers a countryside alternative to the coast. Choose it for that setting and the time you want to spend there. Coastal outings, dining reservations and tastings should be planned separately as needed.
San Canzian, Istria
San Canzian is another option for a stay near Buje. Compare room layouts and outdoor space rather than selecting solely from a landscape photograph. Check transport requirements for your planned excursions.
Book the room behind the photograph
Ask which room category appears in the image, whether the view is partial or direct, and whether outdoor space is private or shared. Confirm pool access, operating dates and cancellation terms. Seasonal discounts and upgrades should never be assumed.
